How can Distant Colony be considered an "Off Grid" community?
In this case, the term "Off Grid" pertains to being set apart from major social networks such as Facebook or MySpace. While Distant Colony does contain certain features that would allow logging in via Facebook, or sharing through Facebook, the community itself is self contained and these features are only integrated to help make the lives of members easier. Conversations, discussions, and membership can be as private or public as the partcipants involved in these functions desire. Although anyone is free to post community content elsewhere, or share it via Facebook, viewing of onsite discussions is generally only available to members.

What type of content is allowed on Distant Colony?
Distant Colony is considered an online community for mature users only. Therefore a person must be 18 years or older to join. However, pornographic content or excessive vulgar language will not be permitted within the colony. It is very important that members of the community maintain an open mind and respect the opinions and values of others. If something is considered offensive, you can block that member or his content and you don't need to see it again. For the purpose of providing a better guage of what type of content is allowed, imagine a movie rating that would hover between PG12 and R; this would be Distant Colony.
